THE LOCAL AIRPORTS
Donald Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay is 42 km from the Villa. This is aproximately 60 mins ride. The scenery is breath taking along the journey, and the tour operator often stops along the way to give commentary or to allow you to pick up refreshments.
The Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston is much further out and will take approximately 2 1/2 hours.
TRANSPORTATION
A rental car is not recommended unless you are farmiliar with left hand side driving. They are also not really cost effective unless you are familiar with the Island. There are various methods to get around the island it does depend on your budget. We could arrange private taxi service directly from the airport to the villa, or you could hop onto the various travel tour buses who will charge $25 us per person to Runaway Bay, or the private taxi/mini bus who will charge around $100 per trip, dependant on amount of guests. Both the taxi and tour operators can take you anywhere in the island you choose.
The Culture
Jamaicans can be vibrant, friendly and colourful. Traditional cuisine includes, ackee and salt fish, a sort of scramble egg dish, which is often eaten with soda bread (Johnny cakes) or bammy (cassava flat bread) or curried goat, which is a delicious lamb stew which is curried on the bone and eaten with rice and vegetables and jerk chicken which is a fantastic well seasoned meat slowly barbecued over hot coals.. hmm...finger licking good. patties with various fillings is meat or vegetables seasoned and placed in a puff pastry ( a bit like a flat pie) is a very reasonable price lunch - and is a favourite with all the locals.
There are lots of food stalls dotted along the main roads of Jamaica, and they are great to stop and catch and grab a cold red stripe beer or soda pop. The Reggae music is every where during carnival season. The tourist attractions can be paid for in both local or us dollars. The vibrant market and stalls display an array of handcrafts - great for souvenirs or as a gift item. Jamaican blue mountain Peak coffee and the local jamaican Rum is a must have to take home.
The locals tend to speak in broken english called patois. It is a form of broken english with the vowels drawn out.

The Caribbean was formed from volcanic activities many centuries ago. This contributed to the formation of the Hot Mineral Springs and Caves in various parts of the Island’s interior. Many a traveller swears by their healing properties. Most visitors have no idea that Jamaica produces the Worlds most expensive Blue Mountain Peak Coffee, or that we produce one of the worlds favourite tipple (Rum) It goes to show, that this Island can be full of pleasant surprises.
For the Sporty traveller, all Water Sports are catered for. You… pick your choice. Feel a part of the island’s history, as you walk down the Colonial corridors and trails of the many plantation Great Houses. The atmosphere is surreal and not to be missed. The breathtaking Jamaican sunsets are amazing. Not to mention the many festivals and Events, with mouth watering Jamaican delights, and the pleasing spirit of the locals.
